I have been saving for a MACRO lens for some time. I have been doing our best with my trusty 18-200 lens.
You can get some reasonable results with a high megapixel camera. Zoom in and crop the photo.
This will make do until you can afford a real MACRO lens.

Something very simple can be very elegant. I have the habit of over thinking things. This problem does show up in my photography on occasion.
Sometimes it seems that I am trying to cram too much into a shot.
I was at the cottage on the weekend and I passed this bud. It stood there alone, out of place, and surrounded by short wild flowers.
It was begging to be noticed, so I did.
I think the result has a quiet dignity.
The next day it was open, so I stopped again.

I have started looking at things with black and white in mind. Refections, angles and sunlight take on a whole different character when processed in monochrome.
I think that older buildings just scream the various shades of grey but new structures like the ROM can workย their own reflective magic.
Hmmmm…….what else is around the corner?

A nose is a nose is a nose…..well not really.
This is Niki’s nose. Nikita is my Siberian Husky. I am sure she is very tired of me and my camera. Then again I am quite sure that she is not tired of treats. ๐
She is my subject for many camera learning shoots. I learn a new section of the manual and try it out on her. She is pretty patient.
and when her patience ends…..she just walks away.
Dad, stop with the flashy thing OK?
grrrrrr
Well, tomorrow is another day…..
