Seed Study, a set on Flickr.

There are these seeds near my home. They look like enormous dandelions. I have no idea what they are. I stopped the van on Saturday and collected a coffee cup full.
These are results of playing around with my trusty 100mm macro and a tripod. I used my playbook as a black reflective surface.
I added a little interest with an eye dropper and a mister.
What do you think?

I am learning more and more with this lens. The depth of field is very very short, as I mentioned before. I am contrantly amazed at what it can do. This droplet is smaller than a head of a pin. Granted, I had to take quite a few shots to get it right, but I think the results speak for themselves.

More Macro goodness. This 100mm lens is a lot of fun. Very challenging when hand held. The DoF is very small and even a little waver in the subject will produce blurry results.

I am learning a lot about patience, especially on breezy days.

I think I also will need a quicker tripod.

See the results of my new toy. I found a nicely priced 100mm Macro lens on kijiji yesterday. I have been saving up for one for a while now and jumped on it.
This is one of my first shots with it. It has a crazy shallow Depth of field. This needs to get used to, but I am really looking forward to the detail it will give.
Fast to focus and sharp as a tack. I think it will be worth the added wieght in my camera bag.

Further postings will follow as a learn the ins and outs of this lens.

Wish me luck! 🙂
